Centralia College Science Center, Centralia, WA
Wood Harbinger provided mechanical and electrical engineering for the new Centralia College Science Center, a 70,000 SF, three-story building. The $32 million structure houses the College’s health sciences departments.
This facility was initially designed for LEED Silver Certification, but received the prestigious Gold Certification. The new facility consists of materials that are energy efficient and environmentally compatible. Specific features of the facility include energy efficient lighting, use of sustainable materials, and landscaping design that supports water conservation.
The Center accommodates the college’s sciences programs and nursing program. It has a greenhouse and an astronomy deck, in addition to classrooms, lecture halls, meeting areas, and faculty offices.
This project is a winner of the 2011 American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Washington Local Competition Bronze Award.
