Laboratory Remodel and Renovation, Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane, WA
Wood Harbinger provided the mechanical engineering to expand and renovate the laboratory at Sacred Heart Medical Center. When completed, the remodeled laboratory occupies 44,000 SF.
The design supported a Lean Healthcare workflow for processing work in the most efficient manner possible, eliminating waste, variation, and work imbalance. The phased implementation plan relocated in excess of 1,250 pieces of laboratory equipment.
Mechanical systems include a new air handling unit and exhaust fans, fume hoods, plumbing, heating, medical gas, laboratory hot and cold water, deionized water, steam, chilled water, fire protection, and Direct Digital Control (DDC) system.
