Wood Harbinger was the prime consultant and provided mechanical and electrical engineering services
for the partial renovation of Building 78 to create an apprentice skills training area and the
partial renovation within Building 460 to provide Weld School training facilities and classrooms.
Work in Building 78 included removal of the roof and historically significant dormer window structures,
restoring the roof to its original design with non-combustible materials, and constructing a
replica of the historic shed dormer over the restored roof.
Building 460 Weld School renovations included providing weld gas supply piping and fume exhaust,
upgrading the building power supply and electrical distribution, and converting approximately 19,400 SF into classrooms.
Interior renovations in both buildings included modernization of restrooms, fire protection and alarm
systems, cabling for phone and computer networks, and removal of lead, PCB, and asbestos.
