Wood Harbinger provided mechanical engineering, an Energy and Lifecycle Cost Analysis, and
commissioning for this modernization. The Mill Creek Middle School campus consists of four buildings,
two of which were completely modernized including a partial addition. The other two
buildings required only minimal work, including the replacement of mechanical heating and
ventilation systems. New construction was approximately 19,000 SF, while renovation area is approximately 83,000 SF.
The 520-student school now includes the Technology Academy, which serves 150 seventh and
eighth graders. All classrooms have state-of-the-art equipment, such as Smart Boards, LCD projectors, and
wireless laptop computers. Improvements in Mill Creek's library wing include a multipurpose
room available for use by the local community.
All four buildings required that heating systems and air distribution systems be replaced with a new water
source heat pump system to match the school district standards. A new Direct Digital Control system was installed.
