Wood Harbinger provided mechanical, electrical, and communication pre-design, design,
and construction administration for this new 185,000 SF Science Building housing laboratories and
classrooms for biology, chemistry, physics, and science education. We also wrote the
commissioning specification and were the Owner's representative to oversee the Contractor's commissioning efforts.
The design included HVAC, controls, fire protection, steam/condensate systems, chilled and hot
water systems, laboratory vacuum and air systems, high/low voltage service, power and lighting,
and lightning protection. Communications design involved backbone cabling in 2,000-linear feet of
ductbank system and integrating to existing campus telecommunication systems. The structured copper
and fiber optic cabling system supports 1,300 workstations.
The fully addressable fire alarm system is connected to a Graphic Command Center via the
Wood Harbinger designed campus fiber optic backbone system.
